Physicians of the Department of Obstetrics of the Charité University Hospital in Berlin, Germany admitted a 24-year old patient and with her consent, captured MRI video of her progress through the second stage of labor. The video is absolutely amazing to see especially after reading articles about diagnostic imaging during labor and delivery. The results of their study, “Human birth observed in real-time open magnetic resonance imaging“, were submitted to the American Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology.

This video depicts an accelerated version of real-time cinematic MRI of the second stage of labor.
